Important Notice
We are aware of an industry-wide eftpos issue that may affect some customers starting January 1, 2025.
If impacted, you will be unable to make payments via Apple Pay using your Handycard or Debit Mastercard®. We are contacting affected customers directly. Your physical card will not be affected.
To avoid disruption:
- Remove your Debit Mastercard® from Apple Pay and re-add it by following the steps outlined below on this page.
- If you have a Handycard, you can keep using it in Apple Pay until January 1, 2025. After that date, you'll need to switch to using your physical card until further notice.
Ordering a replacement Handycard:
- If you have misplaced your physical Handycard, login to the Westpac App and search: report lost or stolen card and follow the steps to receive a replacement physical Handycard to your address. This may take up to 10 days. Alternatively, you can order a replacement Debit Mastercard® following the instructions below.
Ordering a replacement Debit Mastercard:
- Eligible Handycard and Debit Mastercard holders can order a replacement Debit Mastercard®. To find out more visit Westpac Debit Mastercard: A Debit Card for Everyday Purchases | Westpac.
- To proceed, scroll down to existing customers and click ‘Get started’
- If you're an eligible Handycard holder and can't wait up to 10 days for a new card delivery or require an immediate digital payment option, you can:
- Sign in to the Westpac App.
- Search for "order new Mastercard®".
- Receive a digital card that can be added to Apple Pay immediately.
- You will receive an SMS when your new card details are ready to view in the Westpac App and Online Banking.
Stay alert to scams:
- Be vigilant as criminals may try to steal your money and personal information. Westpac will never ask you to share your password or Security Code, install software to connect to your device, or send you a link that directly opens our sign-in page or requests your personal or financial information.
If you are unsure what card you have, see the FAQS below. To find out more, visit the eftpos website.
