- An everyday account with a Debit Mastercard®¹ to make deposits and withdrawals, payments online or on the Westpac App
- $0 Account-Keeping Fee for the first 12 months (usually $5 per month). After this, the fee will continue to be waived if you; deposit at least $2,000 each month, are under the age of 30 or are a full-time tertiary student
- You’re at least 14 years old with an Australian residential address (under 14s apply in branch with a parent or guardian).

What to have handy?
- Both applicants will need their Westpac Online Banking sign in details
- To gain full access to your account, you’ll need to be registered for Westpac Protect SMS Code. We’ll send an SMS Code to both applicants before you open your account.

If you or the person you’re applying with is a new Westpac customer, you’ll need to visit a branch together to open your account. Please make sure you both bring:
- Your tax details. We’ll need your Tax File Number (TFN) and if you’re a foreign tax resident, we’ll also need your tax residency details
- Suitable ID. You’ll both need to be verified separately.
You can use our identification checklist to work out which documents you’ll need for your situation.
