Westpac said today it has donated $250,000 to the Oxfam Pakistan flood appeal for the victims of the recent floods.
Westpac CEO, Gail Kelly, said funds donated to Oxfam will go towards providing food, water, sanitation and shelter to the millions affected by the disaster. Funds are being directed to Oxfam’s existing local community partners.
“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the disastrous floods in Pakistan,” Mrs Kelly said.
“We are pleased to assist Oxfam with their important fundraising appeal. This donation will go towards relief, rehabilitation and restoration of livelihoods in Pakistan helping them through the current crisis and its aftermath.
Westpac is also encouraging its employees to contribute to Oxfam’s appeal. Donations to the appeal can be made at any Westpac branch and all employee donations are matched dollar for dollar by the bank through its Matching Gifts program.
