Westpac announces new JobKeeper assistance customer helpline
24 April 2020
Westpac has announced a customer helpline for businesses impacted by COVID-19 who are waiting for Federal Government JobKeeper payments to come through in May.
Chief Executive, Business Division, Guil Lima said: “We strongly support the Federal Government’s JobKeeper initiative. Keeping Australians in jobs and getting paid is vitally important.”
“We also understand many of our customers need help immediately and that’s why we’ve put these measures in place.”
The new customer helpline will help ensure eligible customers are identified quickly and their applications for financial assistance are expedited.
Mr Lima said: “Westpac is committed to helping our business customers as they navigate this period by offering practical, meaningful support where we can. We all have a role to play in this extraordinary and challenging time.”
These new measures extend the support Westpac is offering our business customers impacted by COVID-19 which include deferrals on loan and credit card payments, zero establishment fees on equipment finance loans, merchant terminal rental fee waivers, and early access to term deposits.
Westpac encourages business impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis to contact their Relationship Manager or visit Westpac’s business relief page.
