Ready to apply for an Import documentary letter of credit?

Before you get started, here are some things you may need to know.

Who can apply?

Businesses transacting with overseas clients wishing to establish credit worthiness with your suppliers and control payment terms and conditions.

Ways to apply

Online

If you’re a Westpac customer with WinTrade access, you can transact online. If you require WinTrade access, call our International Trade Solutions team on 1300 656 251.

Offline

Non WinTrade customers need to download and print the Irrevocable Documentary Credit form requesting Westpac to establish an irrevocable import documentary credit on your behalf. As the documentary credit incurs a liability against your company, some form of security is required. Then send the completed form to us at your nearest Westpac International Service Centre.

What happens next?

Within 24 hours of receipt of your application, one of our International Business Managers will contact you by phone to explain the next steps.
