Westpac extends support to communities affected by bushfires in Western Australia
- $25,000 donated to Lord Mayor's Distress Relief Fund WA
- Disaster Relief Package to assist customers suffering hardship
- Westpac and St.George branches accepting public donations
Westpac has today announced that it is donating $25,000 to help communities affected by the recent bushfires in Western Australia's South West area through the Lord Mayor's Distress Relief Fund.
Today's announcement comes after Westpac last week unveiled a relief package to assist customers who are suffering hardship as a result of the latest bushfires in Western Australia.
In addition to the $25,000 donation and disaster relief package, additional support for those in need will be provided at Westpac and St.George branches nationwide where the public can make over the counter donations.
Jason Green, Westpac's State General Manager, Western Australia said: "We understand this is a very difficult time for our customers and those communities impacted by the recent bushfires in Western Australia's South West area and we hope these initiatives will go a long way to help people rebuild their lives after such a devastating loss.
"We want to ensure that all employees, customers and communities know that if they need the support, we will be there. Anyone who needs assistance or advice can contact us so we can discuss their circumstances and work out the best way to help."
Personal donations can be made through Westpac and St.George branches or online with all proceeds going towards the Lord Mayor's Distress Relief Fund WA. Customers are to quote the following information:
