Ready to apply for a telegraphic transfer?

Before you get started, here are some things you may need to know.

Am I eligible?

You need to sign up as a Westpac customer, and your business must be registered in Australia and operate as:

  • A sole trader, individual or partnership
  • A public or proprietary company
  • An association or trust.

Note:

You must  sign up as a Westpac customer and register for Business Online Banking to conduct online telegraphic transfers.

What information do I need? 

  • If you’re already a Business Online user you don’t need to do anything, just look under ‘Overseas’ and start transferring immediately
  • If you’re a new customer, you'll need details for yourself and every signatory, such as an Australian driver's licence (where applicable).

What happens after I apply?

  • If you’re already a Business Online user you don’t need to do anything, just look under ‘Overseas’ and start transferring immediately
  • New customers: you and any other signatories will need to be formally identified at a branch before your account can be opened.
