REFRESHED CARD DESIGNS.
More accessible.
Our refreshed card designs are not only colourful (which we love) but aim to improve on our current designs in two ways:
- Enhanced accessibility features
Using the Mastercard® Touch Card feature, your new card includes an accessibility notch that helps to identify and orientate your card when using it. The braille dots help to differentiate between card types. Credit cards have a braille C and squared notch, debit cards have a braille D and rounded notch, and pre-paid cards have a braille P and triangular notch.
- 100% recycled plastic
The plastic in the card body is made with 100% recycled plastic 1, using PVC waste materials from industrial manufacturers. Mastercard have certified that the plastic in the cards use 100% recycled plastic. Use of recycled plastic is a small but important step to reduce the use of new plastics.
When is it happening?
Digital cards have been automatically updated and will now appear in your Westpac App and any digital wallet you use. From a security standpoint, you’ll continue to have access to our digital CVC (which changes every 24 hours in the Westpac App) for safer online shopping.
Physical cards with the new design will start to be issued once the existing stock with the current design runs out.
