How to get started

Before you apply, you’ll need to have a Westpac business transaction account to receive settlements into.

1. Open

If you don't have a Business Transaction account yet, open a Business One, Business One Plus or Community Solutions Account.5

2. Apply

Apply online for an EFTPOS Air merchant facility if you are a sole trader, company or association. 
For other business types such as partnerships and trusts, please call us on 1800 029 749 (8am-8pm, Sydney time, Mon-Fri).

Applications for EFTPOS Air are typically reviewed within one business day.

3. Download

Once approved (takes around 1 business day) download the free EFTPOS Air app and log in to start taking payments with just your iPhone. EFTPOS Air requires iPhone XS or later running iOS 16.4 or later.

1. Compatibility: Tap to Pay on iPhone requires iPhone XS or later running iOS 16.4 or later and a supported payment app. Some contactless cards may not be accepted by your payment app.


2. Mobile coverage: Internet connection is required to take payments.

3. Same day settlement:  Subject to system availability, settlement is performed directly after business day cut off. Business day cut-off for EFTPOS Air takes place 7-days a week at 8.50 pm (Sydney time). Settlement must be to an eligible Westpac business transaction account.
 

4. 1.4% flat rate pricing: Applies to eftpos, Mastercard and Visa payments by card, mobile wallet, or wearable.

5. Business Transaction accounts: Before making a decision about any of our Business Transaction Accounts, please read the terms and conditions available at westpac.com.au/transaction-accounts. Fees may be incurred for certain electronic transactions such as foreign transactions and withdrawals from some overseas ATMs. Customers must be able to meet any applicable fees and charges. For a complete view of fees, please refer to our Terms and Condition (PDF 805KB).

Read the Westpac Online Banking Terms and Conditions (PDF 620KB) before making a decision. Not all accounts are eligible to be included in a bank feed. Not all third-party service providers support bank feeds for all accounts.

Bank feeds must be set up with third-party service provider before it can be connected in Westpac Online Banking. If your third-party service provider doesn’t appear in the drop-down menu in Westpac Online Banking, you may need to check that your third-party service provider is registered with Westpac. Should there be any changes to your user access or network access levels, you may need to disconnect your bank feed(s) as any access changes won’t impact bank feeds. The products and services offered by third-party service providers are subject to their own terms and conditions and fees and charges. Westpac doesn’t guarantee or endorse the services or products offered by third-party service providers.
