Jun 2022 - Investment Scam
Scam containing fake prospectus document
This example is a copy of a fake prospectus document provided to a customer by a scammer, claiming to be underwritten by Westpac Life Insurance Services Ltd and Capital Management Services Ltd, to try and convince them of the investments legitimacy.
Scammers may claim to be bankers, stockbrokers, financial planners or other investment professionals. They may seem knowledgeable on investment matters and even send you links via email to legitimate looking fake websites and/or prospectus documents.

This phishing SMS has been sent advising that a payment has been made from your account.
By clicking the link to cancel the payment you will be taken to a fake sign in page (phishing website) which requests your personal or banking information, including prompts to enter security codes.

By clicking the link to refer to the virtual assistant you will be taken to a fake sign in page (phishing website) which requests your personal or banking information, including prompts to enter security codes.

Mar 2022 - Scam SMS
Westpac: We have detected unusual payment request
This phishing SMS has been sent advising that Westpac has detected an unusual payment request on your card and that the antifraud department will contact you to verify the activity.
This is an attempt to gain your personal and banking information. Be wary of any calls claiming to be from the antifraud department. They may quote the name and operator ID contained in the message as part of the scam.
If you receive a message such as this listing your full credit card number, your card may have been compromised. Westpac will never display your full card or account number in communications. Contact us immediately on 132 032 to arrange for a new card to be issued.
