Do I need to have Westpac Protect™ SMS Code to set up my PayID®?

Your mobile number will need to be registered for Westpac Protect™ SMS Code before you can receive the code to set up a PayID in personal banking.


To add your mobile number or switch from a token, call 1300 655 505 8am-8pm Mon-Sun Sydney time or +61 2 9155 7700 from overseas.

In the Westpac App

Before trying these instructions make sure you update to the latest version of the app.  

  1. Search PayID in the Smart Search bar
  2. Tap PayID settings then Register now and follow the prompts.

In Online Banking

Personal customers

  • Go to Service > Services > Account services > PayID/Pay to mobile > Register now.

Business customers

  • Go to Service > Services > Account Services > PayID settings > Create new PayID
