How do pending refunds affect my balance?

While the credit card refund is pending the amount does not alter your account balance. Your available funds will remain unchanged. The balance and available funds will only be updated once the refund is finalised and processed by the merchant.

For debit card refunds (where selecting credit, contactless payment or online/phone purchase), the refund will be added to the account balance. Funds will be available once the refund is finalised and processed (settled) by the merchant.

For debit card refunds to accounts where the CHQ or SAV button was selected, the refund amount will be added to the account’s available funds and is also reflected in the account balance at the same time.
